it was w/ doranne that i first experienced the thrill of guerilla butoh, out in a public space w/ an unsuspecting audience
and so this saturday at 2:30-ish i will pay tribute to her memory in the mlk jr. civic center park in downtown berkeley
at mlk and center st (where the farmer's market is)
dance cry drool
contemplating the imagery she gave to me and so many other dancers
i would appreciate a supportive audience, if anyone can make it, or wants to play...

Re: doranne: in memorium
Fri, August 3, 2007 - 10:23 AMJust wanted to wish you luck this Saturday! As doranne would say. . ."you are a beautiful dancer. . ." This is a very sweet gesture to all she has given and I just wanted to say have a wonderful time in this moment that you are giving yourself to be present with the gifts she has given. . ."remember the breath. . . "

Re: doranne: in memorium
Sun, August 5, 2007 - 9:38 PMthanks
it felt great to be dancing out in the open again
i had worried a little that my young son might get upset to see me dancing and not paying attention to him, but he didn't mind, was running all over, even danced w/ me a little
there was a 5 yr old girl who kept watching me and kept saying "look at the pretty lady"
she did a little ballerina dance for me
the sun and the wind felt good
the grass under my feet
dancing to the sound of my own breath as i first did
