Re: butoh in boston
Fri, March 16, 2007 - 7:26 AMHi Andy,
I'm curating a Boston Butoh Series that highlights our local performers who have intensive training in butoh. The next series is tomorrow - 3/17 - at Third Life Studio in Somerville. You can get more info off my profile page or in the events listings. It is also listed in the Globe, Weekly Dig and the Phoenix. . . .if you can you should come by to check it out.
Akira Kasai is in town this weekend at the Calderwood - performing in a Noh piece and Katsura Kan is due back in town this spring to teach and perform (more info forthcoming). The New York Butoh Festival (produced by CAVE Gallery) is set for this Fall (Oct & Nov) as well.
Definitely keep in touch and feel free to contact me for more information about the local butoh scene - there is a small group of us who do perform and teach on occasion!
Best,
Kitsune -
